Several years ago, a revolutionary app Parent Advocacy made its debut, transforming how we approach school meetings and their preparations. Designed specifically for smartphones, this app offered a seamless experience accessible anywhere, anytime. Whether you were commuting, attending a school meeting, or at home, this app was your reliable companion.

It was then, before I delved into the world of web design. I have to admit, responsive design was not a positive experience with the CMS platforms available back then. This app’s smart and revolutionary functionality served the needs of people who required reliable access, making it a game-changing solution.

Now, Clerc Center have been transforming heavily across platforms, management systems, and data handling over the years. There are new and better methods, such as Google Analytics for gathering information, WordPress with built-in and custom scripts, improved CRM systems with accessible APIs, and the extensive use of PHP. Especially, they are focused on making websites more accessible, responsive, and user-friendly than ever. These advancements have significantly enhanced their capabilities and efficiency.

With Google Analytics and WordPress solidifying their function and structure, Clerc Center team recognized the increasing numbers of people seeking information and access to the Parent Advocacy app for important resources.

As I expanded my knowledge of web development and design, I occasionally welcomed new ideas, changes, and improvements to the user experience. I also found them applicable to other pages I had already developed with the Clerc Center, such as Fingerspelling and the Camp list with an interactive map. While apps are typically more focused on functionality, productivity, or games, responsive design had seen significant improvements with scripts and coding. I was excited to develop a simpler, easier, and yet fun addition of interactive design into the Parent Advocacy site!

I absolutely jumped in, aiming to provide the best access to information with the current design and functions that users were already familiar and adaptive with. We are continuously improving the interactive design of Parent Advocacy site and connections on Clerc Center’s website developed in partnership with American Society for Deaf Children, Hands & Voices, and National Association of the Deaf.
